Windows Phone 7.8 update coming on January 31st!
Microsoft has been very quiet about the time frame when the Windows Phone 7.8 update is going live, but now it’s believed that the targeted day is January 31st. Windows Phone 7.8 update brings ability to use three different size tiles on the Start screen, and it’s said that this update will make older Windows Phone device to feel more modern.
The source here is Windows Phone Colombia via their Facebook page, and they are saying that January 31st is the launch day.

Nokia: Windows Phone 7.8 is coming to Lumia devices Q1 2013 and not earlier!
Early leak recently got Windows Phone 7.5 users drooling, that there’s possibility that Windows Phone 7.8 would arrive earlier that first announced. Anyhow today Nokia spokesperson told to Twekears, that Windows Phone 7.8 is coming as planned in Q1 2013. Those leaks what we saw recently were pre-production models, according to Nokia.
So all of you who are now clicking the update button can stop it, and wait for the real update arrive in Q1 2013.
Nokia Lumia 510 will land with Windows Phone 7.8 and not with Mango!
Nokia Lumia 510 was running Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” last time when it was showed, but now recent report is saying that it will launch in India with Windows Phone 7.8 instead. Windows PHone 7.8 offers new home-screen with new re-sizeable alive tiles, just like in Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 7.8 also offers functionality to share files over bluetooth, a ringtone maker app and many other new features.
Nokia Lumia 510 is the only smartphone to get Windows Phone 7.8 in India. Windows Phone 7.8 update won’t be available via OTA, but instead it will available for those who buy the smartphone with new OS out of the box. More info after the break.
Windows Phone 7.8 upgrades appear on Nokia’s servers, shows eligible Lumias!
There’s great news for you guys ho have Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 or 900, and you’re waiting Windows Phone 7.8 update. The firmware of 8858 appears now in NaviFirm for all those Lumia models eligible. The update is also spotted for those devices which didn’t make the initial cut: The Lumia 610, 710 and 900 have all appeared, each with numerous region-specific updates. New and exclusive Nokia Lumia 505 coming to Mexico with Windows Phone 7.8?
Nokia might be launching exclusive phones for regional carriers and this time it’s going to be Nokia Lumia 505. This photo you see above first popped out in Facbook page of Guerrero Móvil, and there was not much info about the phone, except that it will be exclusive to Telcel. And now winp.cn hae found relatively good evidence that Lumia 505 might really be happening. Site found Wi-Fi certification for this phone, which confirms this phone really do exists.
Nokia Lumia 505 is reportedly having 8MP camera, Windows Phone 7.x, possibly to be the Windows Phone 7.8 sibling for Nokia Lumia 510. Also Lumia 505 is going to pack single-core 1GHz processor, 800-by-400 4-inch display, 4GB of storage, 256MB of RAM and 1,300mAh battery.
Microsoft confirms Windows Phone 7.8 update is coming in Q1 2013!
Microsoft has finally confirmed Windows Phone 7.8 update schedule. Windows Phone 7.8 update will arrive in Q1 2013. The information was given in official Windows Phone blog today. Microsoft also told that they are now working with multiple hardware manufacturers and carriers in order to deploy Windows Phone 7.8 to “as many devices as possible”. This might be a little bummer for Windows Phone 7.5 users, as there’s been lot of talk that the update would hit device much earlier. But that said now it’s better to know that the update is truly coming, and there’s some kind of launch schedule out there now, than to be out there without any information.

(UPDATE) Microsoft Windows Phone 7.8 launch in Wednesday!?
UPDATE: TechCrunch contacted microsoft’s spokesperson who told that there’s no formal launch date set yet, but more details will arrive soon.
A Nokia spokesman could not shed any light on the timing of the 7.8 release, noting that the “update calendar” is set by Microsoft.
Microsoft is rumored to launch Windows Phone 7.8 in Wednesday, according to sources near the subject. There’s not so much details in the report about the Windows Phone 7.8, except those what is already known, it will offer new start screen(similar as in WP8). Also ability to keep Wi-Fi open on Nokia devices in suspend mode. There’s also now rumors of ability to send files via Bluetooth File Transfer.
Nokia started to sell Lumia 510 in Philippines recently, and now there’s a video of Lumia 510 running Windows Phone 7.8, all new features included.
The build number of Windows Phone 7.8 is now leaked too. Windows Phone 7.8 build number will be 7.10.8858.136. Current Windows Phone 7.5 build is 7.10.8779, it seems to be significant build jump.
