RIMs App World is now called BlackBerry World!
There’s no question about how important it is to RIM to attract developers to it’s upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS, and now they are focusing on that in BlackBerry Jam event in Bangkok, Asia. Report from CrackBerry motes that RIM has changed it’s BlackBerry App World store name to simply BlackBerry World, mainly because of dedicated sections for movies, TV shows and music. Also regional partners are pledging support for the platform like Baidu, Kantana and Fox Sports.
The SDK gold release is scheduled for December 11th with all the APIs, and developers can now register for that $10,000 built for BlackBerry incentive guarantee, and the deadline is December 21st. RIM is also now giving Limited Edition BlackBerry 10 hardware after launch for those original 1,500 developers who have signed and submitted at least two apps or more and are ranked by score based on certain other developer activities. RIM now has 60 million active BBM users in Asia, and now the company is claiming that they are both largest and fastest growing segment there.

UPDATE! Netflix now available in Finland and other Nordic countries!
UPDATE: Netflix app is now in App store and in Google Play Store! The best thing of course is that you can register to Netflix and you will get 1 month streaming for free. After your 1 month free trial service costs 7.99€/month. Read the press release Netflix just released, from down below.
Netflix said some time ago that they are expanding their streaming services to Nordic countries and now it’s become reality. Earlier this week they launched their service in Sweden and in Denmark, today it started streaming in Norway and it’s believed that it will be available in Finland tomorrow. You can though download Netflix app from App Store to your iPad or iPhone now, but it’s not available to download from Google Play Store yet, but surely it will be available soon. I think the streaming starts tomorrow with price tag of 9.90€/month. Netflix is offering free one month subscription in Sweden and i think that will be the case in Finland too. Also good to note is that Netflix and Spotify made a deal that customers who pay for using Spotify get to watch Netflix’s stream free of charge by the end of year 2012. In the mean time you can read my article about which streaming service you should choose, Netflix, Viaplay or HBO Nordic.
