Editors Note: Happy New Year to all TonisTechBlog’s readers!
Happy New Year to all TonisTechBlog’s readers. The year 2012 was huge for TonisTechBlog in all areas, news, new readers, daily views and other visibility. TonisTechBlog grew rapidly and was mentioned in multiple tech sites, such as in TechCrunch, The Verge, Engadget, Cnet and many others, which help us to grew. I’m expecting that TonisTechBlog will grow even more in 2013 as there is going to be many new ideas and features to launch next year. I’m also going to keep updating Samsung Galaxy update schedules, and those sites are indeed very important to me as i want people to know when their device is receiving the updates. Im also going to do more interviews with interesting persons in tech area, i recently did interview with Jolla’s advisor and consultant Jukka Eklund, which was very popular post.

Apple rumored of building Bluetooth smart watch!
Apple is rumored of building Bluetooth Smart Watch, according to report from tech.163. Apple would be working with Intel in order to create the smart watch, with 1.5-inch PMOLED display made by RiTDisplays with ITO-coated glass. Sources close the subject also told to tech.163 that the expected launch of the Smart Watch would be first half of the next year.
The rumored Smart Watch would work together with iPhone. At the moment we can’t confirm or deny this rumor, and if the Apple is making the Smart Watch, it would take a while before it will hit the stores. It’s also proven that “smart watches” can be highly profitable, you might remember Pebble and MetaWatch. We’ll have to wait and see where will this rumor take us, but i think that in the future many people will have Apple watch on their wrist.

Former Nokia executive Damian Dinning announces he’s headed to Jaguar Land Rover!
Yesterdays departure of Nokia’s imaging executive Damian Dinning surprise many, but now we all know where he’s headed. Damian Dinning gave exclusive interview to PureViewClub, and told them that he’s headed to Jaguar Land Rover. He also told that other than photography, cars are another life long passion. Also his family played big role in his departure, as Damian concentrating many of it’s strategic roles in Finland, he wanted to stay with his family in UK. He also stated that the whole team is behind Nokia’s camera tech, and not just one person.
As reported by a few, the work area I am best known for, imaging, is the result of a huge and massively talented pool of people. I have often felt embarrassed by the media attention I received knowing that whilst I am proud of my own contributions and the forward looking guidance I have strived to provide the teams, there are a lot of unsung heroes!

Microsoft’s Greater China VP says Windows Phone 7.8 launch in coming weeks!
Windows 8 is already out there, but there haven’t been any good indicators when Microsoft is launching Windows Phone 7.8. Except now, according to Microsoft’s Greater China Vice President, Windows Phone 7.8 launch will be hitting Chinese market in coming weeks. Still, coming weeks could mean almost anything in tech world, although rumors are suggesting that Windows Phone 7.8 is coming in early next month. We’ll just have to sit tight and wait for now. I will keep you up to date on this one.

Apple executive Eddie Cue join Ferrari board of directors!
Apple’s (AAPL) executive Eddie Cue joins Ferrari board of directors, wants to make Ferrari even more high-tech exotic cars. Ferrari chairman Luka di Montezemolo comments Eddie Cue’s experience with the “dynamic, innovative world of the internet”, as the motivation. Italian car manufacturer wants to make their super cars to be in this century and by that i mean tech wise, and wants to take connected cars seriously. When the first Ferrari comes out which have been affected by Eddie Cue’s experience is still unclear, but when it comes, you should expect as advanced cabins as their engines are.

Jolla Mobile opens new office in Hong Kong!
Jolla informed in it’s Twitter account that they have opened new office in Asia, actually in ‘Cyberport’ Hong Kong. Jolla’s CEO confirmed this in a tweet, which you can check from below. It’s been said that this is right place for Jolla to thrive as in Hong Kong there is many tech professionals and the place is dubbed as tech heart of Asia. Having office in Hong Kong will allow Jolla to have direct link to the their hardware manufacturers and to those who are planning to license Sailfish OS. There’s only 16 days left to Jolla’s big OS announcement in Slush event, TonisTechBlog will be there and will give you the latest news.
Just opened the #Jolla Asia office, bringing a new chapter of Finnish design and engineering to the east. Onward sails!

Nokia Completes acquisition of Scalado’s imaging Tech and Developers!
Nokia has completed acquisition of Swedish imaging company Scalado. Nokia told that they are going to bring outstanding imaging for it’s Lumia smartphones. Scalado’s 50 “world class imaging specialists” will join Nokia’s mobile imaging department. Nokia also gets Scalados’s technology and intellectual property. Sami Niemi the imaging specialist’s co-founder will head up the capture and relieve section of smart devices at Nokia told: “The technologies and competences we’ve developed should help move from taking photos to capturing memories and emotions.” You can read the statement from below.
