Holvi, the future of banking with simple, but powerful services!

Finland based startup Holvi was among the most interesting startups in Slush 12 conference in Helsinki. Holvi tries to change traditional banking to be  more simple, but yet very effective. As they say in their site, “Holvi isn’t a bank, but it will replace your bank“. You can make transactions with Holvi’s service, just traditional banks, but you can also associate as many accounts with your Holvi profile, making it easy to separate finances for different projects.

Holvi is mainly designed for organizations, sports clubs, event organizers, projects, bands,  so those who needs planning their project finances and do it without annoying bureaucracy. If you think that it sounds lot like PayPal, you’ll be mistaken. In Paypal you can’t pay or send bills, as Holvi does. Holvi’s service is mobile and web optimized, which will make it’s use very simple and effective.

This is all made possible by new Pan-European legislation for payment services. And the Euro currency zone is making payments easier and pricing as low as local payments. Holvi is currently only available in Finland, but company is planning to launch it’s service outside of Finland in the near future.

If you want to know more of Holvi head on the source link below.

Jolla unveils Sailfish OS, promises better performance and truly open source!

Jolla unveiled Sailfish OS today at Slush event in Helsinki. Jolla isn’t only targeting smartphones, but also tablets and smart TV’s. Jolla said that Sailfish OS will first truly open source OS. Jolla’s Sailfish OS SDK will be released today and company is going to demo it tomorrow at Slush event in Helsinki.

Main feature is of course multitasking, Sailfish OS will be deeply personalized and “fast and effortless interaction”. Many Android apps will also run on Jolla’s Sailfish OS without modification, only simple port is required to get the best operation.

Jolla will start campaign and partnership with Finnish carrier DNA, to promote and sell Sailfish OS products. I must say that Sailfish OS is like MeeGo, but ten times better.

It’s always nice to see new OS in the market, as Jolla’s CEO Marc Dillon said: “Smartphone OS market is dominated by two OS’s”. It’s amazing to see Jolla’s OS finally unveiled and it’s going to be great add to the smartphone OS market.
