HTC made only $34 million profits last quarter, it’s lowest profits since 2004!
Accroding to report from Bloomberg, Taiwanese company HTC, made just $34 million in net income in quarter 4 2012. quarter 4 2012′s net income is the lowest income company made since the 2004. Company’s finances were actually slightly better than analysts expected, but $99 million drop from the Q3, and $322 million drop from year-over-year is not very pretty to watch. Even Taiwanese company released multiple flagship models(DROID DNA and Windows Phone 8X) they couldn’t make the best out of it. Need to remember too that these releases were in the middle of the quarter and so didn’t fully impact to the final result. HTC’s CEO Peter Chou though believes that “the worst for HTC has probably passed,” adding that the company will increase marketing budget considerably in effort to compete with Samsung.

ASUS reports $230 million profit, notebook and tablet sales main money makers!
ASUS (2357) announces it’s Q3 earnings, and the company makes $230 million in profits. Company’s total earnings in Q3 2012 are 6.71 billion New Taiwan dollars ($230 million) in net income on 111.43 billion New Taiwan dollars ($3.8 billion) in revenue. That’s 9% increase in revenue from it’s last year Q3 earnings and 43% increase in net income over the same period.
Company’s like Dell and HP, both PC makers but both are struggling, so ASUS earnings seems nice. ASUS netbook sales are dropping, but it’s notebooks and components are growing, and tablet shipments have increased dramatically, from 800,000 in the Q2 to 2.3 million in Q3, biggest reason for the dramatic increase of tablet shipments is highly popular Nexus 7 tablet.

Samsung announces $7.4 billion Q3 profits!
Samsung (005930) has announced it’s Q3 profits, posting $7.4 billion in operating profits for Q3 and $5.97 billion in net income. $7.4 billion profits is nearly doubled from last years Q3 profits. Reason for the almost doubling it’s profits were Galaxy S3 and it’s huge sales numbers. Samsung also gained “industry leading profitability” in the TV-market, after company’s consumer electronics sales boosted profits a fair deal. It’s pretty impressive that Samsung can grow in almost all markets it enters or has entered already.
