Lexar announces 256Gb SD card, it’s available in October for price of $900. Lexar believes that “theres no such thing as too much storage”. Targeted by professional photographers and videographers who shoot in full resolution and 1080p HD video. $900 is hefty price to pay for a SD memory card, but it’s obvious that it would be worth of being used as a secondary back-up solution for computers with SD card slot. SDXC memory card can theoretically hold up to 2Tb worth of storage, so maybe in a few years we can see 256Gb used by a norm and 2Tb used by pros.
