Samsung started to roll out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S2(GT-I9100). Samsung Galaxy S2 was a big hit in 2011, and it’s still very popular smartphone with huge user base. Large user base is the main reason why Samsung is rolling out this update, and it’s very good news for the Galaxy S2 users. Android 4.1.2 update reportedly rolling out in Australia to unbranded Galaxy S3 devices!

Owners of unbranded Galaxy S3 in Australia can feel free to celebrate as Android 4.1.2 Update has started to roll out. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is currently available only via KIES, and there’s no word when the update will be available via OTA. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean brings many new features to Galaxy S3 smartphone, such as, ‘Premium Suite’, which brings ‘multi window’ functionality, but there’s also bug fixes, also Exynos exploit is fixed and the so called ‘sudden-death’ is fixed also. If you have unbranded Galaxy S3 device and your region is Australia, head to the KIES and download the update.

Apple launching new iPad and iPad Mini in March!

Apple is launching 5th generation iPad and 2nd generation iPad Mini in March, according to analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital. This would be very aggressive update schedule as the company released 4th gen iPad and iPad Mini just few months ago. Analyst Brian White also claims that 5th gen iPad would be much thinner and lighter than the current version. addition to this iPad 5 could also pick some of the new design features from iPad Mini, such as diamond-cut edge and a black/slate or white/silver two-toned aesthetic.

iPad Mini would have Retina display and other new features would concentrate to internals. It’s rumored that iPad Mini 2 could have faster processor. Check out the Brian White’s note after the break.

With less than three weeks left until RIM unveils it’s first two BlackBerry 10 devices, we’re starting to see increased number of BB10 related leaks. Today promotional images of BlackBerry 10 devices leaked, highlighting various new features. We can also see RIM’s BlackBerry Z10 full-touch smartphone in both white and black. There’s also now confirmation in the images that BBM service supports video conversations. Users are also able to share their screen with the other user. SkyDrive updated with new features for 2013!

Microsoft’s cloud based service, SkyDrive, has been updated with new features. SkyDrive interface is through web service and it allows user to create files and folders. SkyDrive team has now added new features for 2013. New features includes improved sharing, speed and touch responsiveness to the latest update. Other new features are Integrated view of sharing permissions, Improved selection for touch-based devices and Improved drag-and-drop support. Seems that SkyDrive team hasn’t kept too much holidays since holiday season and have to say that new features are pretty great.

Samsung Korea details Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S2, date is still unknown!

There’s not much information about the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S2 device, but now Samsung Korea has released official information about the update. Still there’s something missing, the launch date. First information is less positive as internal storage will be reduced from 12GB to 11GB, thanks to the new update partition. Also the update will be available only via KIES, with no OTA update option available.

Now the positive stuff. Android 4.1 for Galaxy S2 will include new features, such as Project Butter and Google Now. In addition to the new features there’s going to be some additional applications too, Google+, Google Play Books and Google Play Movies will be pre-loaded.

New details of Microsoft’s Windows 8 successor emerge!

As reported earlier this year, Microsoft is going to switch to an annual release of it’s operating system starting with “Windows Blue” in mid-2013. Now user called “maxy”, who has been unofficially identified as a Microsoft official, uploaded a post to PCBeta forum claiming that “Windows Blue” or “Windows 9 dev”, will get customization options in the form of Windows Phone 8′s resizable app tiles.

Microsoft is also going to keep desktop view around, but remove the gloss on elements including the taskbar. Microsoft’s will also use new kernel (v.6.3), which will give more polished look to next Windows. There’s no word that these claimed new features are legimite, but sure they sound plausible. ViaPlay has announced that they have released ViaPlay app for Android, and it will be available starting today. The App is called ViaPlay(NEW), and it will be upgraded version to other ViaPlay apps. The app brings new features and better video streaming quality. The new app uses so called adaptive streaming (HSL), which allows better video quality and minimizes buffering times. And with this new adaptive streaming live sport events video quality is much better.

ViaPlay (New) application runs on Android 4 – or later operating system-equipped mobile phones and tablet computers. ViaPlay’s entertainment is now available for PC and Mac computers, smart phones, tablet computers, as well as PlayStation 3 – and soon, the Xbox 360 game console. Nokia Lumia 510 was running Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” last time when it was showed, but now recent report is saying that it will launch in India with Windows Phone 7.8 instead. Windows PHone 7.8 offers new home-screen with new re-sizeable alive tiles, just like in Windows Phone 8.
