LG Optimus G sells 1 million units, reportedly heading to Europe and China in Q1!

LG-Optimus-G2

LG announed that they have now shipped 1 million Optimus G smartphones. Company also revealed that it’s going to bring Optimus G to Europe and to China in Q1 2013. LG Optimus G was launched in the latter part of 2012, and now LG proudly announced that they have reached 1 million units shipped milestone. While you can’t quite compare these sales number to Galaxy S3 or iPhone, 1 million units shipped from LG is pretty impressive considering the limited availability of the device. LG Optimus G is currently available in South Korea, Canada, Japan and the United States.

LG is on the increase in term of smartphone sales, in Q3 2012 company broke it’s record in smartphones sales, and that was even before Nexus 4 sales numbers. LG is set to announce it’s Q4 earnings on January 30th, and it will be very interested how Nexus 4 impacted these numbers.

Teens: iPhone out, Galaxy S3 and Microsoft Surface in!

Microsoft_Surface

Apple is selling iPhone 5 successfully, but it now seems that the iPhone’s are too popular to be cool, according to report from Forbes. Forbes, also tells on same report that teens don’t want to see same device as they are using in hands of their parents, dentists or coffee baristas’s. Teens want latest, greatest phones that speaks to their generation. So what are now cool devices that teens want to use? Apparently Samsung Galaxy S3 and Microsoft Surface are both in, all teens should use these devices instead of Apple’s. It’s also believed that one reason is that Android devices are less expensive than Apple’s, which makes it more likely that parents are willing to buy new one for the teens, instead of handing them expensive iPhone.

Apple rumored to be working on a cheaper iPhone, could launch in late 2013!

iphone5-front-back

Apple is rumored of making cheaper iPhone version for years now, and now rumors of cheaper iPhone has surfaced again. Now according to report from Wall Street Journal, Apple is “working on a lower-end iPhone,” citing only “people familiar with the matter” as proof. Site also states that the company has “explored such a device for years,” but that exploring is getting closer to reality as the smartphone’s are changing. New iPhone “could resemble the standard iPhone, with a different, less-expensive body”, meaning that cheap iPhone could look more like iPhone 3GS. Main reason for the launch of cheaper iPhone, could be high price of the iPhone 5 $649 in the U.S, and can even cost more overseas. You could get Android device with same or higher specs, but for less money.

HAPIfork brings eating to the new era, tracks every meal on your iPhone!

hapi-fork

One of the wildest and futuristic gadgets in the CES 2013 must be HAPIfork. It’s a “smart fork” that has a bluetooth radio, a capacitive sensor, and a vibration motor built-in. Basic idea is that as you eat, every time the fork touches your mouth it triggers a sensor, measuring your bites on the app. It even tells you to eat slower by vibrating if you eat too fast. HAPIfork was created by French HABIlabs’, and the idea was to help you to eat slower and it helps you lose weight.

The fork pairs with your mobile app that not only tracks every bite, but also when your meal begins, ends, and even how long each “fork duration” is. Hapilabs says that its fork will be available soon for $99.99. A USB version that pairs with your computer is set for release in Q2, but if you want to hook your fork up to your mobile you’ll have to wait until Q3 for the Bluetooth-enabled version.
