It’s finally official, LG Optimus G Pro, rumored for a long time and now it’s here. Japanese carrier announced it’s spring lineup of Android devices and LG’s Optimus G Pro is one of the devices announced. LG Optimus G Pro has 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 3,000mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There’s also similar specs to it’s predecessor like 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera on the back, 332GB of internal storage and LTE. Optimus G Pro arrives to Japan in April, but there’s no information about when it’s going to be launched in other countries.
Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo just announced line of Android device, and the most exciting device must be NEC’s Medias W. The NEC-made handset is a foldable smartphone with two 4.3-inch LCD displays. The device is also packed with 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP shooter on the back, 16GB of internal storage and built-in microSD slot. When you open the device the screen size expands to 5.6-inch diagonally, thanks to the two displays. Thanks to the two displays, apps can be used independently or together to provide more space. The device comes with Android Jelly Bean, and it’s expected to be launched in April in Japan. There’s no official word yet when or will it hit international markets.
Sony announced Xperia Tablet Z today in Japan. As heard before in the rumors, Xperia Tablet Z, features 10.1-inch display with screen resolution of 1,920-by-1,200, it’s main talking point must be it’s thin design, measuring at only 6.9mm thick. Xperia Tablet Z also packs Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, an 8.1MP camera on the back. Sony now has the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablet, and it’s also waterproof and dustproof as well.
If you’re big fan of great smartphones and especially fan of Lg’s Optimus G with it’s quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip and LTE radio, you might want to know that there’s going to be another player in Optimus G lineup. Today Engadget published photo which gives us little bit details of LG’s next high-end smartphone Optimus G Pro.
The Optimus G Pro has 5-inch 1,920-by-1080 display, that’s big upgrade from Optimus G that has only 4.7-inch 1,280-by-768 display. Also in chip side Optimus G Pro is ramped up by adding 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. Optimus G Pro also has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 4G LTE, 13MP camera on the back and 3,000mAh battery. It’s also believed that Optimus G Pro has One-Seg and NOTTV functionality which hints that the device is Japan only.
Sony is believed to announce thin and waterproof Xperia Tablet next week in Japan. It’s believed that NTT DoCoMo will be first carrier to add this tablet to their device lineup. Xperia Tablet Z has 10.1-inch 1,920-by-1,200 display, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 8MP camera on the back. Device is very thin, only 6.9mm and the body is also waterproof. Xperia Tablet Z don’t have as much pixels as iPad 4 or Nexus 10 has, but it sure is good competitor with it’s thin and waterproof body. There’s no pricing info released yet. Samsung’s is going to add yet another size version to it’s Galaxy Note lineup. Samsung GT-N5100, will come in 2 versions GT-N5100 3G / WiFi version, and GT-N5100 WiFi version only. It’s also now confirmed that the official name is going to Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Galaxy Note 8 has 8-inch 1280×800 TFT (Super Clear LCD) display, 5MP camera on the back, 1.3 MP front camera, 2 GB RAM, 16Gb or 32GB of internal storage + Micro SD slot, and it comes with hefty 4,600mAh battery. The 8-inch Galaxy Note will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It also has S-Pen with all the latest functions. Samsung will unveil the 8-inch Galaxy Note in Mobile World Congress on February. HTC posted a photo to company’s Facebook page, and it now seems that it’s a photo of rumored M7 flagship Android smartphone. You can’t see much from the image, but it’s believed that M7 has 4.7-inch display with 468PPI. It’s also believed that M7 has 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM 32GB of internal storage, and LTE and HSPA+ radios. The M7 also has 13MP camera on the back. There’s no official launch date set yet, but it’s believed that HTC will unveil the M7 flagship Android smartphone in Mobile World Congress on February.
There was lot of tablets shown in CES this year, and ASUS showed few there too, but one tablet they didn’t show there was ASUS MeMo Pad. ASUS MeMo Pad, 7-inch 1,024-by-600 tablet runs Android Jelly Bean, has 16GB of internal storage, a Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM and a 1MP front facing camera. ASUS MeMo Pad isn’t as nice as Nexus 7, but with price tag of $150 it’s little bit easier to your wallet. ASUS also informs that MeMo Pad is “tablet-only product”, meaning that it won’t be getting Transformer Pad-like keyboard dock. Check out the official press release after the break.
