Sony developing 6.44-inch device?!
Bigger is better?! It seems to be the trend in tech nowdays, as many mobile device manufacturers are developing bigger and better smartphones/phablets. Recently it was rumored that Samsung is going to launch 6.3-inch Galaxy Note smartphone, which seems to be huge. Huawei also announced Ascend Mate, 6.1-inch smartphone. Now it’s believed that Sony is developing 6.44-inch 1080p smartphone/tablet device. Photo, that you can see above, looks like a traditional production line leak, completed with sterile white cloves. It’s believed that the screen ratio is 16:9, and the lack of physical buttons indicates that it will be android device. If this upcoming Sony device is already started to roll off production lines, chances are that we are going to see the device in MWC this February.
Samsung exec confirms 8-inch Galaxy Note coming to MWC!
The device been rumored while now, and some was already waiting it to appear in CES, but as we know now, we didn’t see it there. Now, iNews24, is reporting that no other than JK Shin himself has confirmed that Galaxy Note 8 will debut on MWC. Site is the same that reported first about Galaxy S3 Mini before anything was official, so there’s no reason to doubt this scoop. Galaxy Note 8 would be packing a 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor, and a 8-inch 1,280-by-800 display. JK Shin didn’t tell any other specs yet, and we just need to wait for the MWC to know more.
Android 4.1.2 update reportedly rolling out in Australia to unbranded Galaxy S3 devices!
Owners of unbranded Galaxy S3 in Australia can feel free to celebrate as Android 4.1.2 Update has started to roll out. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is currently available only via KIES, and there’s no word when the update will be available via OTA. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean brings many new features to Galaxy S3 smartphone, such as, ‘Premium Suite’, which brings ‘multi window’ functionality, but there’s also bug fixes, also Exynos exploit is fixed and the so called ‘sudden-death’ is fixed also. LG Optimus G sells 1 million units, reportedly heading to Europe and China in Q1!
LG announed that they have now shipped 1 million Optimus G smartphones. Company also revealed that it’s going to bring Optimus G to Europe and to China in Q1 2013. LG Optimus G was launched in the latter part of 2012, and now LG proudly announced that they have reached 1 million units shipped milestone. While you can’t quite compare these sales number to Galaxy S3 or iPhone, 1 million units shipped from LG is pretty impressive considering the limited availability of the device. LG Optimus G is currently available in South Korea, Canada, Japan and the United States.
LG is on the increase in term of smartphone sales, in Q3 2012 company broke it’s record in smartphones sales, and that was even before Nexus 4 sales numbers. LG is set to announce it’s Q4 earnings on January 30th, and it will be very interested how Nexus 4 impacted these numbers.
Upcoming Galaxy Note GT-N5100 device specs confirmed!
Samsung’s is going to add yet another size version to it’s Galaxy Note lineup. Samsung GT-N5100, will come in 2 versions GT-N5100 3G / WiFi version, and GT-N5100 WiFi version only. It’s also now confirmed that the official name is going to Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Galaxy Note 8 has 8-inch 1280×800 TFT (Super Clear LCD) display, 5MP camera on the back, 1.3 MP front camera, 2 GB RAM, 16Gb or 32GB of internal storage + Micro SD slot, and it comes with hefty 4,600mAh battery. The 8-inch Galaxy Note will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It also has S-Pen with all the latest functions. Samsung will unveil the 8-inch Galaxy Note in Mobile World Congress on February. Samsung Galaxy S2 to get Android Jelly Bean update in February!
If you are one of those Samsung Galaxy S2 owners, you’re going to be very happy in February. Samsung is reportedly releasing Android Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S2 devices in February. According to the report from GSMArena, Samsung spokesperson told to Cnet that Galaxy S2 smartphone will get the Android Jelly Bean update in early February in Singapore and it will be launched in other regions soon after. The update will arrive to GT-I9100, and also to U.S variants i777 (for AT&T) and the T989 (for T-Mobile). Samsung has recently also told that Galaxy S2 device has shipped more than 40 million times since it’s launch on April 2011.
Samsung Galaxy S series: Over 100 million shipped!
Samsung Galaxy S3 hits 30 million device shipped, but Samsung has something even bigger in it’s sleeves. According to Samsung, company has sold more than 100 million Galaxy S devices. The line of popular smartphones passed 100 million mark 2 years and 7 months after the original Galaxy S hit the market. Company also told that Galaxy S2 has now sold 40 million units, doubling it’s sales since February. New Galaxy S devices like Galaxy S3 mini has sold pretty good too, but company told that they sell 190,000 Galaxy S3 units daily, and that’s 500 phones per minute, pretty impressive i must say.
Samsung GT-I9500X, possibly Galaxy SIV, listed on company’s website!
Benchmarks are the ones that can often reveal details about upcoming Android devices. Sometimes they even confirms that the unknown Android device exists, but they are never 100% reliable as sources as they can be manipulated. Now on Samsung’s official download site lists still unknown Samsung device labeled as GT-I9500X, this might be long waited and rumored Galaxy SIV device or Tizen smartphone. But what does this listing tell us? Well it gives us a clear clue that the GT-I9500X now exists and might be even tested already.
