HTC and Apple reach global legal settlement!

HTC and Apple released a statement detailing 10 years settlement between them. This is great news for both of them, and also for patent wars over technology markets. As for HTC and Apple, they’ve made it clear that now both camps can concentrate on product innovation for a long time. The global settlement which takes them both out of the battlefield for a whole ten years. The agreement they’ve made, affects on all patents, current and future.

HTC and Apple have reached a global settlement that includes the dismissal of all current lawsuits and a ten-year license agreement. The license at hand extends to current and future patents held by both parties. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

“HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus on innovation instead of litigation,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.

“We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation.”

There’s no word yet how this agreement will affect on other patent wars out there, including Samsung, LG, Microsoft and others. as always TonisTechBlog will keep you up to date on this one.
