Asustek originally hoped to price Taichi at below US$1,600, but due to yield rate and cost problems, the company is only able to offer the product at above US$1,900.
Asustek will also release an upgraded version of the Nexus 7 at the show adopting Android 4.2, with a 16G Wi-Fi model priced at NT$8,990 and 32G 3G model priced at NT$10,900.
Seems that it’s a huge blow to ASUS as they wished to keep the Taichi’s price under $1,600.

Skype for Windows Phone 8 official preview is now available!
Microsoft (MSFT) has made Skype for Windows Phone 8 official preview available in Windows Phone Store. New features include Skype contacts within People Hub, while you will be able to sign in using either Microsoft account or Facebook. You’ll be able to send messages through messenger, and more importantly make calls and chat even the app is running background. New Skype app also has now Live Tiles, which allows notifications to show in it, ex. someone send you a message, you can now see it in Live Tile as a notification.
This is not the final product and it still has some flaws in it, as you might guessed already. Incoming calls will sometimes tap into your cellular data even you’re connected to Wi-Fi, also only incoming calls when the app is closed will delivered through audio(so no video calling allowed yet when app is running background). If you want to try Skype app on your Windows Phone 8 device, check out the link below.
