HTC announced it’s next generation smartphone called HTC One. HTC One runs Android 4.1.2 with HTC’s own Sense 5 on top of it. The body of the device is machined aluminum unibody and it hosts 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display with PPI of 468, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of RAM. HTC One measurements are 137.4mm x 68.2mm x 9.3mm and weights in at 143 grams. The slim body also accommodates 2,300mAh battery, radios for WiFi a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and 32GB or 64GB of storage(no microSD slot though). LG has finally revealed availability, pricing and specs of it’s upcoming high-end smartphone, Optimus G Pro. Optimus G Pro handset was officially announced for Korean market a few days ago, and now there’s details of the device available. The handset sports 5.5-inch Full HD display, with thin bezel, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a removable 3,140mAh battery. There’s also 13MP camera on the back and 2MP front facing camera, LTE connectivity and the handset ships with Android 4.1.2. The device will be available in U.S and overseas in second quarter. Pricing is set to be 968,000 won in Korea, equal to $900.
It’s only few days left before this year’s Mobile World Congress starts, and know there’s new press photo leaked from HTC. Smartphone you see above is allegedly called HTC One, and it was previously knwown as HTC M7. HTC’s Peter Chou has already flashed the smartphone at an event previously, and now EVLeaks says that this is the first press photo leaked of the device. Capacitive button layout looks pretty weird, home button is at right and there’s big HTC logo on the middle. Device edges looks like to be chrome or metallic finish. The device is rumored to have similar 1080p display as is in HTC Butterfly. There’s no confirmation that this is real press shot, but as you might know already, EVLeaks has pretty convincing track record in leaked shots.
It’s been rumored for a while now that Nokia is launching Lumia smartphone with 41MP camera, and the codename for the device is “EOS”. “EOS” Lumia would have improved design and an upgraded PureView camera, and it would be launched later this year. Now, sources speaking to The Guardian confirmed the existence of the device and it’s scheduled launch in the U.S this summer. It’s also rumored that AT&T would be the first carrier in the U.S to get the device. Nokia ofcourse told that they don’t want to comment “on market rumors or speculation.”
Samsung has started to sell Galaxy S2 Plus in Finland for 378€, the device will be available in two different models, GT-I9105 (Without NFC) and GT-I9105P (With NFC). You’ll be able to buy the device from Gigantti. Galaxy S2 Plus runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, a WVGA (480-by-800) resolution display, two color variations Blue and White and it will be available in whole Europe this quarter. It also supports microSD cards up to 64GB, has better version of Bluetooth, 8MP camera on the back, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
After months of rumors, speculations and teasers, RIM has finally unveiled BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. BlackBerry Z10 looks exactly like those leaked photos you’ve seen over the past months. Z10 handset has 4.2-inch 1,280-by-768 display and 356PPI. The device measures in at 130mm x 66mm x 9.3mm, as you can see it’s not the thinnest device, but it’s not the heaviest neither. The device is made of aluminum and hard, textured plastic, and inside is 1.5GHz dual-core SnapDragon S4 and 2GB of RAM, a removable 1,800mAh battery, microSD slots(up to 32GB) and microSIM. Z10 smartphone is 4G LTE capable, and that’s great news. Imaging side, Z10, has 8MP camera on the back and 2MP front facing camera.
Bigger is better?! It seems to be the trend in tech nowdays, as many mobile device manufacturers are developing bigger and better smartphones/phablets. Recently it was rumored that Samsung is going to launch 6.3-inch Galaxy Note smartphone, which seems to be huge. Huawei also announced Ascend Mate, 6.1-inch smartphone. Now it’s believed that Sony is developing 6.44-inch 1080p smartphone/tablet device. Photo, that you can see above, looks like a traditional production line leak, completed with sterile white cloves. It’s believed that the screen ratio is 16:9, and the lack of physical buttons indicates that it will be android device. If this upcoming Sony device is already started to roll off production lines, chances are that we are going to see the device in MWC this February.
Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo just announced line of Android device, and the most exciting device must be NEC’s Medias W. The NEC-made handset is a foldable smartphone with two 4.3-inch LCD displays. The device is also packed with 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP shooter on the back, 16GB of internal storage and built-in microSD slot. When you open the device the screen size expands to 5.6-inch diagonally, thanks to the two displays. Thanks to the two displays, apps can be used independently or together to provide more space. The device comes with Android Jelly Bean, and it’s expected to be launched in April in Japan. There’s no official word yet when or will it hit international markets.
Samsung is expected to announce 5.8-inch Android smartphone at Mobile World Congress in February in Barcelona. The 5.8-inch smartphone model number is GT-I9152, and it has dual-SIM support. The device will come in Pure White color. It’s also expected that the device runs Android 4.1.2 or Android 4.2.1. It seems that this device is aimed to Asian markets with it’s dual-SIM support. We’ll just have to wait for more leaks and see what Samsung will announce at MWC 2013.
Rumors around Huawei’s 6.1-inch Windows Phone 8 device are heating up. Now Cnet Asia reports that Huawei is launching 6.1-inch Windows Phone 8 device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. This is packed by Huawei’s product manager Richard Bhudhikanok’s statement, which he told that Huawei is going to launch two new innovative smartphones in MWC2013. He also told that “He said that the company is working on a WP8 handset that will be similar to the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate,” though he could not say when or where this would be ready.
