LG’s Optimus G Pro revealed in leaked photo, 5-inch 1080p display and LTE!
If you’re big fan of great smartphones and especially fan of Lg’s Optimus G with it’s quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip and LTE radio, you might want to know that there’s going to be another player in Optimus G lineup. Today Engadget published photo which gives us little bit details of LG’s next high-end smartphone Optimus G Pro.
The Optimus G Pro has 5-inch 1,920-by-1080 display, that’s big upgrade from Optimus G that has only 4.7-inch 1,280-by-768 display. Also in chip side Optimus G Pro is ramped up by adding 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. Optimus G Pro also has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 4G LTE, 13MP camera on the back and 3,000mAh battery. It’s also believed that Optimus G Pro has One-Seg and NOTTV functionality which hints that the device is Japan only.
Windows 8: 60 million licenses sold and going strong!
Microsoft announecd that Windows 8 has been licensed 60 million times. During the annual J.P Morgan Tech Forums at CES 2013, they announced that they have sold 60 million Windows 8 licenses to date. “This represents the cumulative sales of Windows 8 including both upgrades and sales to OEMs for new devices”,Tami Reller told. Sale pace is similar to Microsoft’s Windows 7. Windows 8′s main concern is App, or actually lack of apps, but now app count has quadrupled since launch. Microsoft recently passed the 100 million app download mark.
Google teases new Google TV partners, and one of them is ASUS!
Google TV is going to be huge in CES2013, which starts next week, as the company wants to make it’s platform more mainstream. Google announced on Friday a number of of upcoming partnerships and upgrades, including products from Hisense, TCL, ASUS and more. Existing partners, LG, Sony and Vizio, among others, will show their latest Google TV platform.
More interestingly ASUS is going to introduce a device known as Qube, which is going to be similar to “Roku dongle.” It’s not surprise that ASUS is partnering with Google in order of doing “Qube”, remember Nexus 7? It’s been highly popular and maybe ASUS’ Qube will be as popular too. Check out more teaser photo from ASUS after the break.
Hulu CEO Jason Kilar and CTO Rich Tom to leave the company this quarter!
Hulu CEO, Jason Kilar, announced that he’s going to step down from his position this quarter. Additionally, CTO Rich Tom is also going to leave the company this year. Though they didn’t tell exact dates when they are going to depart from the company, or even who would be their successors, but Jason Kilar told that he’s going to stay in the company as long as there”there is ample runway to manage this transition.”
Hulu doesn’t have the best situation financially, but all started to look better for the streaming video company, as it recently told that there’s now more than 3 million paid users in it’s Hulu service. Jason Kilar also stated, that the company added 200,000 new subscribers in just past seven days. Kilar didn’t tell what he’s going to do next. Sony Xperia ‘Yuga’ prototype revealed in leaked images!
Sony’s rumored 5-inch high-end smartphone called ‘Yuga’, was first leaked back in November, and now there’s another reliable leak. Russian blog Mobile-Review.com revealed 2 photos of the ‘Yuga’ smartphone.New photos also shows that ‘Yuga’ has similar back cover as is in Nexus 4 and LG Optimus G, and it’s also coated in glass. Site also says that the device is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, presumably a Snapdragon S4 Pro.
Recently Sony snapped second position in Android market share from HTC. It’s also believed that Sony will reveal the ‘Yuga’ smartphone in CES2013 in Las Vegas. Check out more photos and head on the source link for more information after the break.
Google Maps for iOS is finally here!
Long wait is over, and yes Google Maps for iOS is finally here. Google Maps was previously the Map App for iOS to go, but then Apple decided to ditch the app and develop their own one, and we all know how that ended. Google Maps for iOS now includes turn-by-turn navigation. There’s currently no iPad optimized version yet, but the Maps app is iPhone 5 ready, head on the iTunes to get yourself new Google Maps app.
Twitter takes on Instagram with built-in photo filters, available for iOS and Android!
Twitter has released rumored built-in photo filters feature for Android and iOS devices. Twitter for Android update includes this new feature already, and it will arrive to iOS devices sometime today. The app now offers eight filters, including “black&white, vignette, cinematic, vintage, warm, cool, happy and gritty” tones. You can also edit the image straight in app, cropping, zooming and auto-image enhancement included. Aviary, the company behind these filters says “each filter was designed from the ground up exclusively for Twitter.”
This is straight response to Facebook’s purchase of Instagram earlier this year. Facebook ended the support for Twitter cards wiping out Instagram photos from Twitter and leaving only links to Instagram’s website.
