(For India JB update: Follow these steps :-
1. Disconnect S3 from computer.
2. Open Kies(updated) and goto -> Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialization.
3. Enter your model no i.e. GT-I9300 and click OK.
4. Then Enter your s3′s serial number (Settings -> About device -> Serial number) and click OK.
5. Now Kies will download the whole firmware approx 800 MB and will properly guide further for flashing original updates.

      I understand your frustration, Samsung Finland said also that Finnish SGS3 users will get JB update in early October, but there’s still no update available in Finland. I heard some rumors that update for unlocked SGS3 comes in early November.

    I understand carriers have to test but with an unbranded phone Samsung are responsible and they have delayed the update deliberately at the cost of the us the consumer. Which is very unfair

      Samsung Finlanf told that the Jelly Bean Update comes to Finland early October, but as you know there’s no update yet, and it’s believed that the update comes later this month or early November.

    Leaked memo confirms that Samsung have done a deal with UK carriers to keep UK unlocked Samsung galaxy SIII away from Jelly Bean updates and update servers. Thus leaving a clear path for carrier users only and leaving unlocked SIII users in the cold.

    I have the unlocked version of the S3 in Romania and I got JB about 10 hours ago on my device via OTA. And by the way…it works very good, much better and faster than ICS.

            hi i flashed United kingdom Firmware 4.1.1 jelly bean . after that the music player sound is reduced when i keep full volume only sound is good . before i used Hong kong Firmware ice cream sandwitch in tat i wil keep volume only 12 or 13 virtual 7.1 it will be good. now wat to do.. i cant flash back to 4.0 ice cream sandwitch phone not onning stuck in samsung logo .. but if i flash 4.1.1 means phone flashes n restarted working properly. now wat to do.. i want sound to be good .. thn how to go back to hongkong firm 4.0. thank you waiting for ur reply.

    however do you know how it works? Is the update region based on IP adress? or it’s it the phones iD? I live in denmark and bought my unlocked phone in denmark. And everyone got the update it seems. However I didn’t get the update yet. I tried both kies and OTA.

    My phone might be import from Russia im not 100% sure tho. I think its a international version.

    Hey, i am living in Oman and i got the update 2/3 days ago.
    When i Power on the device the blue Samsung lable doesnt appear only the sound and when i take a screen shot the picture appears smaller than the screen in the gallery While before update it was full screen. Do you have any idea about that?
    Other than that the update is AMAZING waaaaaay smoother. And google now is perfect.

      Actually there’s no official JB update for Belgium yet. There’s only test software for Belgium/Luxemburg S3 users.

    i updated my Galaxy s3 GT-9300 from Android ICS to Jeally bean 4.1.1 version , everything went fine, but i used to have some applications working fine on ICS and now it seems like there is some applications that are crashing like Bobsled free calling ( i used to use that app a lot ) and now its crashing all the time and even when its not crashing the people i call can not hear me neither i can hear them , that’s one of the applications that stopped working when i updated to Jeally bean 3 days ago ! ;/

      I think it’s because of Bobsled hasn’t been updated to support JB yet, but surely when it’s updated it will work fine.

    Can’t wait, hopefully will come soon.

    I live in the UK but purchased an S3 online recently and it seems that the phone is from HONG KONG with TGY firmware. Is it worth me trying to update the phone to the UK unlocked version of jellybean (can this be done?) for future updates or just wait for the HONG KONG firmware to be released? My original UK spec phone was stolen and this is all pretty frustrating.

          Jelly Bean update for GS3 landed in India last month as test version and i think later this month it will be available via OTA and Kies.

            1. Disconnect S3 from computer.
            2. Open Kies(updated) and goto -> Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialization.
            3. Enter your model no i.e. GT-I9300 and click OK.
            4. Then Enter your s3′s serial number (Settings -> About device -> Serial number) and click OK.
            5. Now Kies will download the whole firmware approx 800 MB and will properly guide further for flashing original updates.

    I’m in the UK with a Galaxy s3 on Orange but apparently my Kies said there was a firmware update a few days ago, so I updated with no effect; nothing changed..

    My firmware version according to Kies is:
    PDA:LH2 / PHONE:LH1 / CSC:LH2 (ORA)

    But on my phone it still says firmware(android) version 4.0.4..

    Orange don’t allow OTA updates so I’m stuck…please help me out!

        It has a bug.. We cant delete the home screen…if we it shows error as “Touchwiz not responding.Force Close”

          Tat bug can be sorted out by either clearing touchwiz ui cache or just disabling developer ptions…the animator duration is creating the bug

    I THINK that the OTA update has arrived for India. It had been rolled back due to technical problems; now it’s here, and many users have reported getting it. Whenever I check for updates, it tells me this, so I hope it’s right around the corner.

    Hi Toni! Since I had my SGS3, I’d been a regular lurker of your blog everyday. I just want to thank you for all the effort that you do for giving us the news that we are waiting a long time now.

    Well, I have no question since I already knew the answer heheh. FYI, I’m from the Philippines and bought my phone locally. As same with the others, my phone is also an International version from Hungary (I9300XXLH1). I guess, I have nothing to do but to wait for a little more time. I just wish that Samsung should release a date so at least we have an idea if when it is coming.

    I’d like to ask you one thing. My phone is GT I9300T, its firmware is from Thailand(THL), and it is unlocked internationally. And I live in Thailand and no contract signed with any of Vodafone.     I live in Nepal.. I bought my s3 from Dubai.. Most of the s3 owner got update one week ago but I haven’t received yet… Can anyone acknowledge me,Why is it so????? And how can i get it??

    can any one help me please… i bought samsung galaxy s3 from ebay. now i want to check my phone unlock status becoz seller said me it was unlocked and updated to jelly bean 4.1. now i want to confirmed this thing… i can’t use other sim becoz i have iphone 5 so it’s sim will not work on that… also try *#7465625# this num but phone doesn’t showing any thing… please becoz i want to gift my sister

    The update for us cellular r530u did come out on the 21st. It hasnt gone ota yet I had to go to a us cellular store with a tech center and they updated it for free.

    Hi, I got my phone from US as international phone (baseband i9300XXLFB – looks like GCC) I am in Brazil and using VIVO sim card. Normal Vivo phones got their update in November and I still have no update available OTA. Is there anything i need to do to get it or just wait. thanks for the help in advance,

    great news hot of the press. Orange & TMobile have approved the Jelly Bean update we are awaiting for Samsung to confirm when it will be uploaded to the servers so customers will see it on KIES.
