Report: Nokia going to launch tablet PC in early 2013?!
Nokia has tablet patent already
According to analyst from Nordea, Sami Sarkamies, Nokia is launching tablet PC in early 2013. The launch will be at either January in Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas or in February in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. There’s two facts, which support this theory as Nokia itself has hinted that tablet PC is the way to go, and he also thinks that Nokia is running out of time if they don’t launch the tablet now.
- Nokia has a bit of a hurry to bring the product on the market, if it is going to get some kind of market share, Sarkamies told to Taloussanomat.
- I believe that if the tablet is seen next year, it will be presented in either event. Otherwise, Nokia can forget the tablet battle.
Other analyst from Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston, expects Nokia to launch tablet in first half of the 2013, and believes that January or February launch would be too soon.
- Nokia plans to extend smartphone offering. If you sell smart phones, tablets should be sold also. Almost all the big players are doing so, Mawston says.
It’s believed that Nokia’s rumored tablet would have similar design as Lumia smartphones, as well as similar coloring.
We’ll have to wait and see what will next year bring to us, and id Nokia would launch tablet PC would you buy it?
