Huawei’s 6.1-inch 1080p Ascend Mate flaunted by executive!

It was just recently reported that Huawei is manufacturing huge 6.1-inch Ascend Mate smartphone, and now yesterday company’s executive Richard Yu showed the devices in Huawei store in Guanghzou. There’s also more photos and video after the break. According to earlier rumors Ascend Mate is packed with quad-core 1.8GHz chipset, 4,000mAh battery, the device is 9.9mm thick and is rumored to be priced around ¥3,000 (about $480).

Richard Yu told in Weibo that specs may differ in the final product, but he added that the 361PPI display is LTPS(low temperature polysilicon) display. Huawei is going to unveil Ascend W1, W2 and the Ascend Mate in CES 2013.

    I had the original Galaxy Note before I got my Note 2 & found it to be a little too wide and uncomfortable to hold in 1 hand. So if this thing is wider than the original Note then its way too wide to be a success. This is basically a tablet with calling features. I dont see this doing well at all. I would like to see one but I doubt it will hit North America or specificly Canada.

      I think it will be too big too, but it seems too that big is beautiful now :)
