UPDATE: Google and ICOA have both denied the deal. ICOA CEO have said that there is not truth behind Google purchasing ICOA.

Google is reportedly purchased wireless internet provider ICOA for $400 million. This means that Google is going to control around 1,500 wired and wireless broadband locales in public spaces, including restaurants, universities and airports across 45 US states. Google has already partnered with Boingo for free Wi-Fi hotspot services in several locations, and it’s believed that Google will now include ICOA’s hotspots to it’s current deal with Boingo.
