Samsung confirms no Windows RT tablets for US markets!

samsung-ativ-tab-pr

Samsung has just confirmed to Cnet that it’s Ativ Tab won’t be sold or distributed in US. The decision is based on company’s feedback from the retailer partners, which suggests that such product would be only modestly successful in the market place. Samsung also there’s not enough education about Windows RT, and suggests that it would require too much of an investment to properly inform consumers of the difference between it and Windows 8. It’s still unclear how this will affect the availability of it’s Windows RT tablets on the other markets.

Screenshot.80198.1000000

Dropbox for Windows 8 was unveiled back at it’s developer conference in October, and now it’s finally available in Windows Store. App is now available for Windows 8 and Windows RT users, the app lets user open and edit files from other Windows 8 apps and share files or folders with the Share Charm. There’s also Search Charm support, but the app is fairly basic and mimics web access to Dropbox with tiled interface. Dropbox for Windows 8 app is great addition to Windows Store line of apps, as the company tries to attract top developers and apps during 2013.

New details of Microsoft’s Windows 8 successor emerge!

windows-blue

As reported earlier this year, Microsoft is going to switch to an annual release of it’s operating system starting with “Windows Blue” in mid-2013. Now user called “maxy”, who has been unofficially identified as a Microsoft official, uploaded a post to PCBeta forum claiming that “Windows Blue” or “Windows 9 dev”, will get customization options in the form of Windows Phone 8′s resizable app tiles.

Microsoft is also going to keep desktop view around, but remove the gloss on elements including the taskbar. Microsoft’s will also use new kernel (v.6.3), which will give more polished look to next Windows. There’s no word that these claimed new features are legimite, but sure they sound plausible. Check out the article after the break.
