LG Optimus G sells 1 million units, reportedly heading to Europe and China in Q1!

LG-Optimus-G2

LG announed that they have now shipped 1 million Optimus G smartphones. Company also revealed that it’s going to bring Optimus G to Europe and to China in Q1 2013. LG Optimus G was launched in the latter part of 2012, and now LG proudly announced that they have reached 1 million units shipped milestone. While you can’t quite compare these sales number to Galaxy S3 or iPhone, 1 million units shipped from LG is pretty impressive considering the limited availability of the device. LG Optimus G is currently available in South Korea, Canada, Japan and the United States.

LG is on the increase in term of smartphone sales, in Q3 2012 company broke it’s record in smartphones sales, and that was even before Nexus 4 sales numbers. LG is set to announce it’s Q4 earnings on January 30th, and it will be very interested how Nexus 4 impacted these numbers.

lgoptimusgprlead01-1347890720

Nexus 4 sales estimated at 375,000 by enthusiasts at XDA-developers!

Nexus 4_0000_Product Image(4)_Nexus4_Range shot04

There’s no LTE support for Nexus 4, but it seems that i doesn’t matter much, as the device is sold out in Google Play. In a thread in XDA-developers forum, the users has used serial numbers to see where and when their device was made, and give us a clue how many devices Google actually has sold. In that serial, first three letters produced tells the year, month and country where the Nexus 4 was made. Example, 212K, device was made in the 12th month of the year 2012 in Korea.

By using this system users were able to provide roughly how many devices were being produced per month, 70,000 in October, 90,000 in November, and 210,000 in December. There’s still many Google Play customers waiting their devices, but as you can see from the numbers Google and LG are trying to cope with the high demand, and manufacturing more and more Nexus 4 smartphones.

galaxy-note-premium-suite

Samsung previously served LG with OLED patent infringement and corporate teft, and LG promptly counter sued. The device at stake now is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, which actually doesn’t rival in any LG products currently on markets. LG now claims that Samsung has breached three LG patents concerning the improvement of the viewing angles.
