Screen

Screen is non reflective and its working very well. At home its almost imbossible to have reflections on screen and it’s functioning in outdoors as good also. Screen resolution is 1920x1080p. Screen color fullness is good but littlebit flat, but in big game sessions everything looks fine. Theres also something not so good like screen is equal to Full HD but in some gaming situations youre able to see some pixels but it doesent affect at gaming experience so much.

Sound

ASUS is promising some great sound experience and G75VW execute it very well.
When sound bar is at fullest point sounds are amazing to listen and brings so much good to gaming experience. Also at lowest level you can hear even smallest cracks and pops in game. If you want to put very low its quite hard because speakers are that good. SonicMaster mini subwoofer brings out bass good enough but hardcore gamers would want even more bass.

Fans and cooling

Fans big size feels and looks good and sound what come from them is not so powerful. Fans are placed behind of the computer and mounting place is well designed and it looks great. ASUS has invested in fans and cooling in this computer that they could provide great gaming experience without any distraction and fan noises. On cooling we tested with Real Temp GT 3.70 and we played NBA2K12. Computer seemed nice and didn’t overheat at all, bottom of computer also reamined cool.

Battery life

If youre hardcore gamer and want to play games outside and use only battery its quite problematic because battery life ain’t that great. When i played Call of Duty 4 using only battery, gaming experience lasted only for hour. If you dont care to play outside and youre using G75VW at home, plug in your charger, you got a great gaming experience. Theres modes that you can cycle and make your battery life better but it doesent effect so much. But we noticed slight change in battery life when we changed to battery saving mode.

Trackpad and keybord

Outside trackpad looks like normal trackpad but it offers much more than that. Trackpad is multitouch trackpad and its big sized and supports many touch variations, like two fingers zoom, two fingers page scrolling and three fingers press(equal to right mouse click). At our test trackpad answered its challenge quite good, but sometimes there lag in scrolling ori t didn’t work at all. Three fingers scroll down/up shows your programs or hide them and it works fine.

Keybord is backlit keybord and it follows todays trend on it. How much light you want to see undeer your keybord its up to you and you can choose the power of light. Keys are very big and it helps you to press right key and its very hard to press wrong key. Arrow keys are great but if you need to play rally games or some another game your wrist gets soar very fast. If you have steering wheel and pedals theres no problem. Keybord is well designed and spaces between keys are big enough too.

How does it look

ASUS G75VW look very futuristic and feels stirdy at use. Outside of the computer is rubber like outer surface and it feels and looks good. You could think of it like looking new supercar. ASUS and ROG logos are top of the computer. ASUS logo is mounted in the rubber like surface and ROG logo is engraved to surface. When you open computer, inside looks like very Zen lke, its has aluminum body. Wrist support is rubber material. Computers keyboard and ports are mounted in aluminum body and it looks good. Aluminum is and looks the same as it looks in ASUS ZenBook.

Game Performance

In game performance ASUS does good job. Best games almost never lag colors are ok but yet still littlebit flat but it doesen’t effect on game experience that much. Playing without mouse is littlebit hard to get the best out of the game, but when using game mouse its great. New INTEL’S Core i7 processor 2.30GHz( turbo boost 3.30 GHZ) and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 670M brings great performance to games. We tested Battlefield 3 and we got out 25fps when using 1920×1080 screen resolution. GTA IV we got out almost 30fps and Portal 2 we got almost 90fps.

Wrap Up

ASUS G75VW is intent to Hard Core Gamers and that is exactly what it brings out. Futuristic outlook makes it look good in many peoples eyes and its Zen like inside makes you feel calm while playing games. Speakers are great. Battery life ain’t the best, but that was expected also because anyhow this is powerful gaming machine not some notebook. Weight this computer has 3.9kg and its not the most movable. Gaming and turbo boost feature makes gaming experience great.
