
Apple’s (AAPL) new iMacs goes finally on sale, starting at €1,399 and goes up to €2,129. 21.5-inch iMac is available straight away, but for those who wants bigger 27-inch iMac they have to wait a bit longer. 27-inch iMacs are on sale now too, but their shipping time is 15-19 days. New iMacs are re-designed and now only 5mm thin, and also weigh significantly less. Both 21.5-inch and 27-inch versions promises a 15 to 20 percent performance boost fueled partly by Intel’s Ivy Bridge, and partly with Apple’s Fusion Drive, a technology which combines HDD with 128GB SSD. Everything will be first stored to SSD until disk space runs out.
Displays of them both are also quite amazing, as 21.5-inch iMac has 1,920-by-1,080 screen resolution, while 27-inch iMac has 2,560-by-1,440 resolution. Both models packs quad-core i5 processors, 21.5-inch iMac starts with processor clocked at 2.7GHz and more expensive version of the 21.5-inch iMac is clocked to 2.9GHz. 27-inch iMacs lower price version is clocked at 2.9GHz and more expensive one at 3.2GHz.
Graphics card in these iMacs are Nvidia’s GT 640M for the €1,399 version, GT 650M for €1,599 version, GTX 660M for €1,490 version and GTX 675MX for €2,120 version.
